The Hydroflyer launches at Morocco’s new Marchica Lagoon Resort

The Marchica Lagoon Resort in Nador has launched a new watersports program in partnership with EFOIL MAROC, the official distributor of The Hydroflyer in Morocco. The program features five eFoils and two Hydroflyers, offering resort guests a range of premium on-water experiences.

Within the first three weeks of operation, the Hydroflyer recorded rental rates nearly five times higher than the eFoils, despite being available in smaller numbers and priced higher than any other beach activity. The Hydroflyer also outperformed all other non-motorised craft on offer, including paddle boards, kayaks, pedalos, and water bikes combined. The high demand for the Hydroflyer even led some guests to extend their stays to take additional rides.

The Hydroflyer is designed to be accessible to a wide range of users. Its handlebar system provides stability, while the V-entry nose facilitates smoother takeoffs. These features allow beginners to learn quickly while still offering performance and thrill for more experienced riders. The combination of ease of use and advanced capabilities has contributed to its rapid adoption among resort guests.

Fayçal Guennouni, owner of EFOIL MAROC, highlighted the significance of the product for Moroccan watersports. “The Hydroflyer has redefined what’s possible for resort watersports here. It appeals to all skill levels, creates memorable guest experiences, and clearly delivers a strong return on investment for operators,” he said.

For Marchica Lagoon Resort, the Hydroflyer has become a signature offering. The product’s electric propulsion, high-end positioning, and strong guest demand align with the resort’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and premium service. By combining these features, the Hydroflyer supports both operational goals and guest satisfaction, creating a compelling case for luxury resort environments.

John Philp, COO at Hydroflyer, added: “The Marchica Lagoon Resort and EFOIL MAROC are setting a new benchmark for guest engagement and revenue in luxury waterfront destinations. The results demonstrate the potential for next-generation watersports to deliver both memorable experiences and measurable business outcomes.”

The success of the Hydroflyer at Marchica Lagoon underscores its appeal as a sustainable, high-demand watersport that fits within the broader trend of resorts seeking innovative guest activities. Its performance demonstrates a combination of accessibility, operational efficiency, and strong market demand, providing a model for other resorts and destinations looking to enhance their watersports offerings.
